Ticket2Europe sent one participant to a training course called “Digital Mediation; Redefining digital culture within youth organizations”, taking place in Larnaca (Cyprus), between 17-23 April.

Though you’ve already had the chance to read about its results in a previous article, let us drive your attention to Sara Diaz’s personal experience:

«Last April I had the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus Plus Training Course: DIGITAL MEDIATION, in Cyprus. It was organised by CITIZENS IN POWER and putting in practice for the trainers from the French organization DIGIJEUNES.

The training was placed in Lárnaca, a beautiful city with the main airport in the island, that allowed us to arrive directly.

Our hotel, near the beach, had a swimming pool that we could enjoy during the few free time that we had.

How it usually happens in this projects we started our first day getting to know each other with games and activities.

Later we started with the real topic which was the app and computer programs that we can use in our job with youngsters.

The first was Actionbound, a phone app to start a Hunting Treasure. This app allows you to create your own way from its website with quiz, deals, videos, photos,… and it is free.
Another program we used was Unity, in which one you can create augmented reality. Here you have an example to teach chemistry.

Also, we use Minetest, the free version of Minecraft to create a virtual world or buildings that you could make in a 3D printer.

But the most important think that we create during this week, in teams, were our own videos. Trainers recommend Lightworks as a free computer program and here you have our job results.

In our free afternoon, we had the opportunity of visiting Kourion and Limassol, from we can enjoy beautiful views and a wonderful souvlaki.

During this days I have knowns new programs to work in the future, I have made new friends, I have shared my culture with people from 16 different countries and I have learnt a lot about technology.

I want to thank the association Ticket2Europe for giving me the chance to participate in this course and I hope destiny brings me to collaborate again with the Cypriot organization in the future.»

Thanks for Ticket2Europe’s participant, Sara Diaz, to share her experience with us! 🙂
