Best decisions are the ones you take without planning them at all and that
is an exact definition of my stay in Zagreb. After my second year of
University, a global pandemic and so much uncertainty about my future, I
finally got the opportunity to join a volunteering service project in
Udruga Amazonas, Croatia. At first, it is true that I hesitated given the
circumstances. However, now that I´ve been here for 3 months already I
can’t be more grateful. If I were to begin with how my lifestyle is, though
we do not work more than 30 hours a week, I´m surprisingly busier than
ever. I managed to join so many activities, such as Capoeira, Acrobatics,
even HipHop! We discovered other volunteers from other organisations and
now we all are becoming a wide international family. In terms of the
organisation, I have no complaints at all: Since the very first day, they
have welcomed us as a part of their family, we feel supported not only
professionally but also personally.*

We have been assigned to a wide variety of tasks including Language
lessons to local people, taking pictures of some of the events happening in
Amazonas, writing an article for the Amazonas blog, we have been able (in
spite of COVID) to organise our own workshops as well as many other
activities to help the organisation and society itself.
